Chef Shaun Collins likes a good pairing and his partnership with Domaine Wine Company proves to be just that. On June 1, 2013 Chef Collins and Domaine will co-host a complimentary food and wine tasting where samples from Chef Collins’ private menu will be paired with artisanal wines selected by the sommeliers of Domaine. Open to the public, guests are educated on how to compliment particular gourmet foods with specialty wines.

The 2010 Rhones started rolling in our doors just before Thanksgiving. With the holidays upon us and most of our tasting schedule already layed out, we didn’t have time to initiate a proper, comprehensive tasting of the wines. We were finally able to get a group of Rhone Valley fans together and pop some corks. Everyone was anxious to see if the hype surrounding the vintage was merited. The vintage has been frequently compared to 2007 and 1998. Vintage weather conditions were terrific, with cool nights and warm days. This results in wines with concentration, but also excellent acidity, which should make for long term aging potential in many of the wines.
